BUCKHANNON, West Virginia – West Virginia Wesleyan School’s Workplace of Non secular and Non secular Life will host the second annual WVWC Christian Ashram Jan. 20-22, 2023. All occasions will happen on WVWC’s campus.
West Virginia Wesleyan School is the one faculty/college in the US to host a Christian Ashram for its college students, school, workers and alumni.

A Christian Ashram is a retreat to concentrate on one’s relationship with God. Christian Ashrams are designed to assist the attendees develop in religion via worship, educating and witness; obtain religious renewal via prayer, therapeutic and sharing; expertise life in an ecumenical, Christ-centered fellowship and revel in a relaxed environment as one experiences “the Kingdom of God in miniature.”

Rev. Jonathan Acord, director of Non secular and Non secular Life, stated, “The Christian Ashram is a good alternative to decelerate and be attentive to God within the midst of group. I’m extraordinarily grateful to God for Dr. Becky Swisher, Rev. Matt Henson, and the whole WVWC group, who serve in varied methods to make this retreat attainable.”

Ashrams are nondenominational, however the Christian Ashram was began by a Methodist missionary named E. Stanley Jones, who served in India and have become shut mates with Mahatmas Gandhi. Jones modeled the Christian Ashram after the Hindu Ashram.

Matt Henson, govt director of the United Christian Ashrams Worldwide, returns as an evangelist for the Christian Ashram.

Registration begins at 6:30 p.m. within the Social Corridor on Friday, Jan. 20 and the Christian Ashram concludes Sunday, Jan. 22 at 11 a.m. within the Social Corridor. The Christian Ashram is free to all present college students at WVWC. All others might want to pay for his or her meals in the event that they select to eat on campus.
