WVCAT Boys Championship Sport

Calvary Baptist 52, West Logan Christian 46

Summersville – Calvary Baptist Academy received its fourth straight West Virginia Christian Athletic Event title Saturday beating West Logan Christian 52-46.

Stevie Hicks, who was named the Most Helpful Participant for the three-day event, lit it up once more for 25 factors, whereas operating mate Isaiah Bosley dropped in 17 factors.

Nick Knox rounded out a strong event by scoring 16 factors for West Logan. Jordan Adams and Bradley Preece added 9 factors apiece.

Hicks, Bosley, Knox and Adams have been all named to the All-Event staff. Becoming a member of them have been Jo Swain (Calvary Baptist), Sam Boothe and Shaye Basham (Mercer Christian), Jon Dillon (Cross Lanes Christian), Josiah McKoy (Mount Hope Christian) and Micah Thomas (Victory Baptist).

WVCAT Boys Third-place Sport

Mercer Christian 52, Cross Lanes Christian 46

Summersville – Mercer Christian constructed a 10-point halftime lead and held on to defeat Cross Lanes Christian within the Third-place sport on the WVCAT.

Plying his ultimate WVCAT sport, Mercer Christian senior Sam Boothe went out in model scoring 23 factors and hauling down 12 rebounds to steer the Cavaliers. Boothe hit 5 triples in eight makes an attempt and had 5 deflections.

M.J. Patton added 14 factors and Shaye Basham had 5 assists.

Jon Dillon led Cross Lanes Christian with 16 factors.

Boothe, Basham and Dillon have been all named to the All-Event Staff.

WVCAT Boys Fifth-place sport

Mount Hope Christian 67, Victory Baptist Academy 64

Summersville – Mount Hope Christian rallied from a 14-point halftime deficit to defeat Victory Baptist 67-64 within the 5ht-place sport on the WVCAT.

Mount Hope Christian drilled 12 lengthy balls on the day with 10 coming within the second half.

Josiah McKoy knocked down seven 3-pointers and tallied 28 factors to steer Mount Hope, whereas Nolan Carney made 5 from behind the arc and had 20 factors.

Micah Thomas led Cross Lanes with 21 factors. Ethan Hunt scores 17 factors and Noah Childers added 12.

McKoy and Thomas have been each named to the All-Event staff.
