Feb. 26—A gaggle of 5 demonstrators gathered on Sunday morning in help of abuse victims within the Chickasha group.

The group’s spokesperson, Christopher Coutts, mentioned the group gathered in help of victims from all walks of life who’ve been abused.

“We’re right here right this moment to face for victims of all types, whether or not it’s psychological abuse, bodily abuse or sexual abuse. We don’t care your determine, your age, your race, your intercourse, your beliefs, your politics,” Coutts mentioned. “It’s merely that the residents of our city deserve higher than to be abused in any method form or type. It’s unacceptable in any method for any member of our group to be handled on this method and for others to suppose it’s alright.”

The demonstrators stood throughout the road from New Life Christian Church. Final week, the previous senior pastor, Matthew Reiber, was charged with three counts of lewd or indecent acts with a baby, in accordance with the Grady County District Legal professional.

On Thursday, the church introduced on Fb that Reiber has resigned. The church’s assertion mentioned Reiber denies the allegations. The church mentioned the previous pastor is not related to New Life Christian Church.

“I pray for the congregation as an entire,” Coutts mentioned. “That they can come collectively and develop their group stronger after one thing like this.”

Church leaders supplied the demonstrators espresso and donuts, Coutts mentioned. There have been optimistic interactions between the demonstrators and members of the congregation going into the church.

“We aren’t right here protesting any actions on behalf of the church. We’re merely right here to face in solidarity for many who would not have a voice to talk for themselves,” Coutts mentioned.
