John H. Cachiaras, 93, of Rochester, handed from this life on Could 9, 2023 at house, surrounded by the love of God and household.
John was born September 21, 1929 in Minneapolis to G.H. (Dean) and Mabel Cachiaras. Referred to as “Brother” to his adoring older sisters, John started driving the household to the cottage at Howard Lake at age 10, as a result of all agreed he was higher behind the wheel than his white-knuckled father. He graduated from John Marshall Excessive Faculty in Minneapolis, studied on the College of Minnesota and graduated with the B.A. and B.Th. levels from Minnesota Bible School in Minneapolis (later named Crossroads School, in Rochester). John married the love of his life, Dorothy (Dot) Maine of Des Moines, Iowa, in 1951. They raised 4 youngsters collectively who admired and beloved him, and he handed simply months shy of their 72nd marriage ceremony anniversary.
They moved to New Richmond, Indiana, in 1953 the place John served as Minister with the New Richmond Christian Church whereas finishing his Masters of Divinity diploma from Christian Theological Seminary (then Butler College) in Indianapolis. In 1960 the household moved to Cincinnati, Ohio, the place John served as Affiliate Minister at Lockland Christian Church, specializing in youth and pastoral care.
In 1966 John was known as to show at Minnesota Bible School in Minneapolis as Professor of New Testomony, Theology and Greek language. After the faculty relocated to Rochester in 1971, the household moved there in 1972, the place John continued instructing till retirement in 1993. John is survived by his spouse, Dot, of Rochester, his sister, Jean Miller, of Minneapolis; 4 youngsters and spouses, John (Debby) of Johnson Metropolis, TN, Joseph (Robyn) of Rochester, MN, Cathryn (Mark) of Brea, CA, and Benjamin (Karla) of Fallston, MD; eight grandchildren: Jennifer (Frank) Jimenez, and Nicholas Cachiaras; Kristen (Christopher) Williams, Jordan (Jaclyn) Cachiaras, Katie (Matthew) Simon, Nathan (Abigail) Cachiaras, Andrew (Nicole) Cachiaras, Elizabeth Cachiaras; seven nice grandchildren, Eliana Jimenez, Bella Williams, Jonathan (Jonny)Williams, Gloria Williams, Gabriel Cachiaras, Scott Cachiaras, Magnolia Simon, and two extra on the way in which in June, in addition to many nieces and nephews.
John was preceded in loss of life by his beloved mother and father, two sisters, Elizabeth Schmidt and Ruth Nord, and an toddler son, Joel Andrew Cachiaras.
A memorial service will probably be held Saturday, June 3 at 11:00 AM at Hope Summit Christian Church, 1315 sixth Ave SE, Rochester, with a time of visitation Friday, June 2, 6:30 – 8:00 PM in addition to previous the service on June 3 at 9:30 AM.
