The Hope School baseball staff racked up a season-high 11 extra-base hits throughout a 19-4 victory towards Grace Christian College on Wednesday at Boeve Stadium.
The Flying Dutchmen homered as soon as, tripled thrice and doubled seven instances en path to scoring in every of its six at-bats. Hope evened its total document at 16-16 with the non-league win.
Freshman left fielder Brenden Collins (Kalamazoo, Michigan / Hackett Catholic) slugged a three-run homer within the fourth inning and an RBI triple within the second. Collins went 2-for-4 with a team-high 4 RBI and three runs scored.
Junior heart fielder Robbie Stuursma (East Grand Rapids, Michigan / East Grand Rapids) went 3-for-4 with three runs scored and three RBIs, together with a two-run double within the fifth and an RBI single within the second.
Sophomore third baseman and leadoff hitter Al Cash (Midland, Michigan / Midland) collected three hits in 5 at-bats with two RBIs and two runs scored. Cash stroked a run-scoring double within the third and an RBI single within the second.
Senior designated hitter Spencer Cable (Hudsonville, Michigan / Hudsonville) went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and one run scored. Cable delivered a run-scoring double within the fourth and an RBI triple within the fifth.
The Flying Dutchmen totaled 19 hits, one off of their season-high.
Profitable pitcher Jonah Schaller (Dudingen, Switzerland / School de Gambach) earned his first collegiate victory at Hope. The junior scattered 5 hits and two runs over three innings on the mound.
Schaller struck out 4 and walked three.
Hope’s subsequent sport is Thursday, April 27, at 4 p.m. at Calvin College within the opener of a three-game collection.
The Flying Dutchmen will host a doubleheader on Friday, April 28, at 1 p.m.
