Final Saturday [29 April] marked a really big day within the relationship between the Vatican and the UK. A novel musical efficiency of the setting of the phrases of Saint John Henry Newman, canonised by Pope Francis simply two years in the past, was carried out within the Papal Basilica of Saint Paul Outdoors-the-Partitions. With a choir of over 300, a full symphony orchestra (The Southbank Sinfonia) and semi refrain, this large work obtained a standing ovation from its viewers which included three Cardinals, two Abbotts, an Archbishop and a Bishop of the Anglican Church, alongside the British Ambassador to the Holy See, HE Chris Trott.
